How to Control Barcode Data Output in Multi Read Mode Using USS?

Choose when Multi Read data is output, either immediately or after the set count is reached, for greater flexibility across different scanning workflows.

Please click the picture for more details!

Step 1: Open USS

Go to Settings > Enterprise Features > USS (Unitech Scanner Service).

Step 2: Enable Multi Decode Mode

In USS, go to Scanner Settings and enable Multi Decode Mode.

Step 3: Set the Multi Decode Count

Under Multi Decode Count, set the expected number of barcodes to scan.

The maximum Multi Decode Count is 10.

Step 4: Configure Multi Decode Full Read

Choose whether to enable or disable Multi Decode Full Read based on how you want the scanned data to be output.

Full Read OFF: Scanned data can be output without reaching the preset Multi Decode Count. This is better suited for workflows where the number of barcodes may vary.

Full Read ON: Data is output only after the preset Multi Decode Count is reached. This is better suited for fixed-quantity workflows and can help reduce missed scans.

Why Should I Set a Multi Decode Count?

The Multi Decode Count defines the expected number of barcodes in a Multi Read session and helps determine when scanned data is output. You can set the count up to 10.

Can I Change the Multi Decode Count at Any Time?

Yes. You can change the Multi Decode Count in USS > Scanner Settings whenever needed to match your scanning task.
